WE ARE LOOKING FOR 1000 GOOD PEOPLE!

New Year, the time for resolutions.

We are looking for 1000 people who will pledge to contribute regularly, every month of the new year, with no more than

only 1000 HUF to the goal of the 10 Million Trees Community.:

We aim to plant 10 million trees based on the principle of 1 person = 1 tree, ensuring that there is at least 1 tree for every person living in our country.

1,000 HUF is less than half a pack of cigarettes

1,000 HUF barely covers a proper breakfast

1,000 HUF is two hours of parking somewhere in the city

1,000 HUF buys a cappuccino

And 1,000 HUF could be a small tree in the Bezerédi pasture forest.

If we find 1,000 good people, 12,000 trees will start to grow and create patches of forest with various tree species, providing shade and shelter from the wind for the indigenous Carpathian grey cattle and other animals grazing there.

Be one of them! Be the one who dedicates 1,000 HUF monthly as a New Year’s resolution for a more livable future.

This is where the little trees will be planted:

Why are we planting in Bezeréd?

The volunteer team of the 10 Million Trees Foundation visited the small village in Zala County in the spring of 2023, where the community started the 2023 tree planting season with the planting of 2500 indigenous saplings.

Dani and Eszter moved to the tiny village in 2017, where initially they grazed indigenous Carpathian grey cattle on a five-hectare area, and since last year, on an additional 12 hectares, keeping goats, pigs, and chickens outdoors.

In the forest strip established on the young farmers’ property, which will be continuously expanded with further plantings, trees and shrubs from domestic nurseries will be planted: sessile oak, turkey oak, field elm, wild pear, wild apple, trembling aspen, as well as blackthorn, hawthorn, and red-fruited dogwood.

The afforestation helps to reduce erosion, retain rainfall better, restore soil life, and restore habitats for animal and plant species and their associations, thus making the area more biodiverse and better able to withstand increasingly extreme weather conditions than intensively used pastures.

We are therefore looking for 1000 good people who commit to contributing 1000 HUF monthly for one year to this planting!
