Earth Month

It is spring: 10 Million Trees is on the move, traveling across the country as usual and planting in many places. This spring, the organization is incorporating its plantings into a new celebration, Earth Month. While planting occurs in various locations and in many ways, the centerpiece of Earth Month will be the specialty of 10 Million Trees, the

Miyawaki urban mini-forests.

During these 30 days, among other activities, they plan to create 4 new Miyawaki forests in Budapest as part of a project aimed at eliminating heat islands, in collaboration with the international tree-planting organization One Tree Planted.

The highlight of the planting series will be the planting of the Rákóczi Miyawaki forest at the Pest end of the Rákóczi Bridge on April 23, 2023, with professional contributions from Főkert, starting at 10 AM, where interested parties are welcome.

On this occasion, a festive Open Day will also be held, featuring community seedling distribution, a playhouse, professional discussions about urban greening, livable, sustainable, and shady large cities, an eco-playhouse, and an environmentally conscious Greenager-10 Million Trees T-shirt sale.

“In addition to all this, we will also plant with our long-time trusted partners, including GreenGo , the Vígszínház theater company, and others, planting in several districts of Budapest as well as in Bonyhád, Maglód, and Bátmonostor, and we could go on. We hope that our plantings will already lay the groundwork for a more favorable and bearable environment for life on Earth tomorrow.” – says Iván András Bojár, the head of the organization.
