Afforestation in Monorierdő

The first landscape reconstruction tree planting in Monorierdő took place through the joint organization of the Monorierdő Local Government and the 10 Million Trees Foundation.

On two fenced plots of 20×30 meters offered by the local government, we planted 800 trees in a grove-like arrangement.

As with our afforestation efforts in other parts of the country, we kept our main goal in mind here as well:

we are reforesting using natural or very close methods, always paying attention to creating a mixed species, native forest stock suitable for the site.

There used to be sandy forest-steppe oak forests around Monorierdő.

Thank you for coming; it is no exaggeration to say that the entire village participated in the planting. The local government staff, led by the mayor, planted trees, while the youngest placed cardboard around the seedlings, and there was even a grandmother who contributed freshly baked donuts to keep our energy up until we planted all 800 saplings.

Great start – we will continue in 2024! 🙂
