How are companies helping to plant trees?
Alone, it is slower, harder, and more challenging. In almost every action we take, we seek and support collaboration.
Our fundamental belief is that we plant not only trees but also ideas.
However, change is difficult; this is true for ourselves and even more so when we think about companies. After all, most companies are not created to go green or plant trees.
That is why we always welcome with joy when a company recognizes this and, beyond just ideas, takes action shoulder to shoulder for change.
Meet two companies we have been working with for years during our tree planting initiatives.
What have they done, and how have they helped plant many more trees?
1. K&H Commercial and Credit Bank
In 2022, we began our collaboration by envisioning the K&H Cooling Groves program.
Following the initial ideas, we quickly moved to action, planting a total of 555 trees and 1100 shrubs in 100 schools, kindergartens, and nurseries between September 2022 and June 2023.
In 2024, we further developed the collaboration by implementing the Animal-Friendly Groves program!
Our goal was to increase green space with diverse plants and animal habitats, support biodiversity in the courtyards of educational institutions, and shape children’s environmental awareness.

In September, it will be two years since we started, and it seems we have succeeded in showing the joy of tree planting to the digital native generation and perhaps a bit of its meaning too! 🙂
2. GREENGO CARSHARING – CAR SHARING
The GreenGo probably needs no introduction for anyone who has ever been to Budapest.
The car-sharing company with an electric car fleet has its small cars popping up in almost every district, parked or in motion, promoting an alternative and greener transportation option.
The company has announced the Roll for the Trees! support program for its users, where you only need to pay an additional 1 forint for every kilometer traveled.
Moreover, at the end of each segment, for every kilometer collectively traveled by participants, GreenGo also contributes 1 forint, further filling the piggy bank.
Between October 2023 and March 2024, users accumulated 2.3 million minutes of greengoing under the Roll for the Trees! program. Thus, with GreenGo’s contribution, the number of trees already planted has increased to over 7200!
Nothing could be further from the truth; there are not just one or two micro or small businesses that participate in sustainable afforestation and tree planting according to their capacity.
