Ki nyer ma?
For the 10 million Fás community, the unexpected can be considered routine.
Nevertheless, when the number of submitted applications swelled to 264 on the night of the submission deadline, we were taken aback. Of course, we rose to the occasion, just as we have with many other tasks over the past years.
It is difficult for us not to speak grandly about it; 264 plans, needs, and desires from the smallest village to the capital, from the depths of the forest to the concrete jungle, all aiming to make our environment more livable, biologically diverse, and greener.
The reviewers became acquainted with hundreds of stories and communities, which was laborious yet uplifting. And of course, it was a bit sad, as the often-heard words: “the jury was in a difficult position,” do not remotely express our feelings. There was hardly a plan we could easily reject.
The total funding requirement for all applications exceeded 400 million HUF, while we had the opportunity to distribute 19 million HUF. In the end, we announced 24 winning applications.
WHO WON?
We, the organizers and reviewers of the application, definitely won by experiencing this and getting a closer look at so many of the country’s communities eager to go green.
24 organizations won a total of 19 million HUF in funding to implement their plans within the framework of National Tree Planting Day. You can check the national distribution of the applications on the map.
We hope that the communities that missed out on the winners’ list also gained by putting together their applications and articulating how they would like to improve their environment. We hope to provide financial or material support to many of them outside of the application process, if not necessarily at this very moment, but we are continuously working to ensure that as many projects as possible can take root!
IF YOU DID NOT WIN
If you did not win this time, please stay in touch with us, as we do not stop, and what did not come to fruition today may come to pass tomorrow!
Many adults and children have gained shade and cleaner air. And confirmation that we are not alone in not passively observing the negative changes brought about by climate change.
Congratulations to the winners, who are listed below in alphabetical order.
