November: Two New Miyawaki!
Outstanding in Greening: A Miyawaki Mini-Forest was Planted at Bányai Júlia High School – you can also watch a nearly ten-minute video about the planting on November 22 in the report by Kecsup from Kecskemét!
It’s worth watching the video, as both the older and younger generations share their thoughts on the planting.
On the 32 square meter area created in the schoolyard, 120 trees and shrubs have begun to grow. According to the school’s plans, the watering of the saplings will be carried out in the future together with the younger students.
“I believe that such a program at school is not only about environmental protection, not only about air quality and biology, but also a community program,” said Lajos Lukács, the principal of the high school, adding:
such programs not only enrich everyday life and unite the community, but can also strengthen students’ connection to the school, as well as their sense of responsibility towards their environment and the trees.
The principal also emphasized that such a program can illuminate for students the role and importance of civil movements, “it can spark the thought in them that everyone can do something for their school, their community, their city, and their country.” – source of the quote: www.kecsup.hu
This is already the 2nd Miyawaki mini-forest in Kecskemét, and with the cooperation of the 10 Million Trees planting community, the 40th Miyawaki has been established in Hungary.

NOVEMBER 4 – KPMG Miyawaki Mini-Forest, Budapest
It was a joy to plant 200 saplings together with KPMG Global Services Hungary in the first week of November and to see the values of nature’s diversity reflected in the corporate team.
There is no doubt that together we can create even more green spaces!
We believe in the power of collaboration, which is why we are happy to plant with companies, but we always make sure that anyone can participate in a Miyawaki mini-forest planting.
